Biography
Muntehaa Azad
I am a visual artist whose practice spans large-scale contemporary paintings, atmospheric watercolors, and ink drawings. Trained formally in textile and fashion design, my creative roots have always been deeply tied to texture, structure, and material form.
Relocating to the mist-laden isolation of the Himalayan foothills profoundly shaped my visual vocabulary. Surrounded by vast, rolling topography, my work naturally gravitated toward the dreamy, hazy compositions, subtle line work, and atmospheric landscapes that define it today.
I paint emotionally, using my canvas as an intuitive space for introspection. Whether rendering fog-draped environments or textured draperies, the mist in my compositions serves a dual purpose: it evokes a sense of quiet solitude while reflecting a fascination with psychological spaces and feminist themes. Through delicate shifts in light and heavy textural layering, I seek to translate internal moods onto the surface, bridging physical geography with emotional memory.
Ultimately, my work is an invitation to pause and step into an intimate landscape of quiet reflection.
